MICHAEL "ZIPPY" SINGER

https://www.michaelsingerarchitect.com/content/about-michael-zippy-singer

"One of Singer’s earliest memories is of lying stretched out on the living room floor for hours, building with Lincoln Logs. Frank Lloyd Wright’s son designed that popular construction toy, and perhaps Wright’s influence on his own son’s work was passed on through those snug-fitting, notched logs to their young builder. The image of Wright’s powerful presence manifesting itself through a child’s toy is somehow apropos for Singer, who has never forgotten the lesson he learned during an apprenticeship in Sacramento with architect Carter Sparks: “He didn’t take himself too seriously, and taught me an important lesson: if you’re not having fun you’re not doing your job. It’s a model which has served me well.” " - Laurie Prothro
